You just go online on a site, such as TurboTax, and take advantage of free federal registration. State of registration, usually have little value, but it is fairly standard. The best part about using the site, such as TurboTax is that when you go do your taxes next year, they will be copied over as much information as possible from this year in the tax declaration. They also help you to make all decisions about your return. They ask you all the right questions and your answers, I say to them that they should know. You never touch the 1040 form again.
